Ugandan Musician and Cultural Ambassador

Chinobay
Back to Artists

Ugandan musician, composer, and cultural educator Chinobay has spent more than two decades sharing the music and traditions of East and West Africa with audiences around the world. Performing on traditional instruments including the kora, adungu, endongo, kalimba, balafon, and talking drum, he blends authentic Ugandan musical traditions with original compositions and contemporary influences.

His performances combine music with storytelling, getting audiences on their dancing feet and offering them insight into the cultural significance of the instruments, songs, and traditions they encounter. Whether presenting an intimate solo concert or with his power band Wamu Spirit, Chinobay creates performances that encourage curiosity, connection, and dialogue. He is also the founder of Dance of Hope and the World Bridge Foundation, organizations that use the arts to support youth development and cultural exchange. His work reflects a lifelong commitment to preserving traditional music while creating meaningful connections between communities through performance.
